My new bedroom design

This will not happen until 2013 at the soonest but I have drawn up my most favoured design. Black stained wooden oak flooring, white matt wall emulsion, silk black painted textured wallpaper for the boarders in the corners of the room. Then other small changes such as the shelving painted in silk black emulsion.

As Level

This the my final A level project. It is a light that is designed to hold and illuminate books. Its primary book to hold is for cook books because the idea is to make it easier to read from a cook book without getting food on the pages. It also lights up the book making it easier to read. The first picture is of page weights which I turned on the CNC metal lathe. The yellow part of the product is English Oak which was turned manually by me on a wood lathe. The red part is acrylic cut out on a CNC laser cutter and the blue part was MDF cut out and chiselled by me manually. I obtained the light from the internet and finished the product off by painting some surfaces black to diffuse light and adding alluminum tape to other surfaces to reflect light (3rd picture.) Then it was just a matter of sticking all the pieces together. Simple really.

As Level Olympic Clock

Brief: Make a clock to promote the 2012 Olympics using only acrylic materials, (with the exception of electrical and mechanical components)

I decided to make dumbbells that light up red, white and blue when turned on.

Wooden Rose

Made from planed pine shavings, wood turned vase and a chopstick.

The inspiration behind this piece was that I'd made the vase at a wood turning class so I thought it would be a good idea to make a rose to fit it and hand it to my grandparents as a Christmas present.

Kitchen Archway

This is the archway made from MDF for my grandparents kitchen. My Grandad cut the MDF out and I applied the silk emulsion finish.
